SJ12-Concepts Buildings

Name:Austrian Pavilion
Architect:Architects SPAN and Zeytinoglu
Location:Shanghai Expo 2010

The pavilion is covered in more than ten million hexagonal ceramic tiles, merging from white to red over its surface. The pavilion provides visitors with a manifold and complex spatial experience. The concept also comprises the entire interior design and essential parts of the interior fittings.
Name:Luneburg University's Libeskind Building
Architect: Daniel Libeskind
Location: Germany

With its silver-colored, jagged facade, the building will be 38 meters (124 feet) high, able to accommodate 1,200 people and will cost around €57.7 million ($76 million). The laying of the foundation stone is planned for early 2011, and construction is supposed to be completed by Easter 2014. The building has already attracted its share of controversy, however. Student representatives have complained that it is “not practical,” while state-level politicians have criticized the fact that funding for construction was uncertain. Even local environmental activists are upset: Two pairs of crested larks, an acutely endangered bird species, were discovered on the site.

Name:Bergen Fire Station
Architect: STEIN HALVORSEN AS sivilarkitekter MNAL
Location: Bergeb ,Norway

There are three important factors fundamental to the design of the firestation:
- site qualities- shoreline and magnificent views of the city’s mountains, Ulriken and Fløyen
- dominant and negative appearance of the traffic
- the building as a part of a future settlement and urban development in the area

Curved shape of the building with the dense screen against the traffic creates a sheltered space in front. The curve follows the outer edge of the site in order to keep this space as wide as possible.

The design of the tower is due to fire training requirements, such as smoke diving in the stairwell. Balconies are used both to rest during smoke diving exercise, and to practice rescuing people.

Do you still think that fire station i red in color and square in shape?

SJ08-Proposed location fot the toy character

The tower is located at the slope so that he character can feel the wind coming from the lake and enjoy the beautiful view from the site through the lake and other places.

SJ07-3 ideas for the viewing tower

My main idea for the viewing tower is 'set'. The set here means i want to make a tower look like a set with his suit and batmobile. So, most of my tower is covered by hard and strong metals.

Batumi Aquarium and Aviary

Batumi Aquarium and Aviary

Location:Georgia
Date:2008
Architects:Zvi Hecker

The design is especially interesting for visitors in that it combines the Aquarium and the Aviary into one interconnected walkway of ramps and terraces. The visitor is exposed to a continuous experience of life in the oceans and rivers and an unobstructed view of the great variety of birds.
(The concept of design is very simple, but Zvi successfully designed a wonderful architecture with a very simple concept.Try to imagine, when you walking in a plastic bottle which you can see through it from up and down.Is is wonderful?
